Good on you Francie - blackmailing tactics are insulting and show that John Key does not value support staff and/or teachers........

Leadership Seminar - Blenheim 31st August

There were only 5 schools represented at ouor seminar but had great discussion around SSCA and WWorkforce Strategy. Some were concerned that if our SSCA expires would we loose our benefits of our current SSCA. There was also a general concern as to how we were going to have schools briefed on the Workforce Strategy that were not in attendance at the seminar.Back on site talking with my colleagues the idea of the WFS did not go down as I thought it would. SS were given the info on the WFS to…See More

I love it, I hope this sort of action will spread as fast as the swine flu!! It will get to the stage where MP's will be so sick of us so just to get rid of us they will come back with a reasonable offer that we can all work with. Oink Oink!! :)

Pledge Posters

Ata maria whanauI attended our BOT meeting last night to encourage them to sign the pledge posters. The support was great and they all signed. The chairperson is also writing to the MOE to show their support for Support Staff in schools and the contribution they make to kids learning outcomes. Also he went as far to say that “schools cannot operate without Support Staff” …….really heartening eh. My principal said I was very professional, so don’t worry Gay I wasn’t cheeky and didn’t let the…See More

Friday Night in the Pubs of Blenheim

OMG we had such a blast gathering signatures for our "Fair Deal" posters to present to Colin King on the 7th of August!! WE are back out there again tonight so who knows what will happen. Putiputi has really inspired me!!!!There is a HUGE amount of support out there for Support STaff in schools. The number of people who were aware of what SS contribute to education as a whole was heartening. Comments such as "my mum was a teacher aide", "my wife is a teacher aide", "I have been on school camp…See More

Super Support Staff Day in Blenheim (The place with all the sun!! :) )

We had an absolutely awesome day at Bohally Interemediate - the teachers and principal managed to cope without us for an hour and a half while we went to lunch. Last night we joined other Support Staff from other schools in Marlborough for dinner and the local community paper was present as well. We shared stories of our day - from schools sending their support staff to lunch in a stretch limo to having half a muffin for afternoon tea. MMM some were not as lucky as others but in true support…See More

Hi, I'm excited because i now have a computer at home again.
It snowed in Silverstream yesterday and my son said it also snowed in Wellington, its very cold.
Its okay keep your chin up, its just annoying that its a hard road to walk but we are united.
Gaye has just been in touch and it looks like we will have a conference call soon.
I've just put a thing around my school members asking them what one thing they would like me to be able to achieve from negotiations for them. This is to help me stay focused and strong.Bev
