Support Staff Day. "Canterbury style"

The earthquake in June meant we were unable to celebrate Support Staff Day like the rest of the country so we are having our very own day on Tuesday 27th September. Our Gorgeous and Glam Dinner at the Chateau on the Park is going to be fantastic and a chance for all us special Support Staff here in Christchurch to celebrate the wonderful work we all do in schools. See you there!!

You have worked very hard this past year. People forget that being the Team Leader is not your full time job so therefore you have time out of school and away from your family.
As a colleague I would like to thank firstly your husband for his support to you and secondly to your school Principal for the support they have given. Gaye your and your team are great.

Thanks Gaye, it certainly was a joint effort and went off so well. Believe me I had a week long headache worrying about it all but the role of MC was great and gave me a chance to tell our members and supporters just how I felt. When I heard there was approx 270 people I almost cried, I was talking to them all and showing my passion. We had the strings of this and took them whole heartedly from start to finish.
My partner, daughter and grandson came to support us and even came to West Auckland with me too. It was a great day and one I will not forget in a hurry.
See you in a few weeks.

Hi there Gaye,
Brought it ( Negotiations paper ) to peoples attention at our Unit staff meeting today and asked them all to read it as it could have implications in the long term. Support Staff have to take responsibility and keep themselves as informed as possible. I know we are all doing our bit to get as much info out there as we can. Perhaps we will get more feedback as the days progress.
Cold nights here but super days. Take care
