Support Staff Conference in Christchurch

A huge thank you to all the 145 support staff who attended and participated in the conference yesterday. It was a busy day of workshops and networking. National Standards

I've just been reading our great magazine, Education Aoearoa, and there is some fascinating stuff about national standards and about education in Finland (long time top scoring country in the PISA tests) where they don't have any national testing or standards. I think if you are going to meet with your MP then you need to stress the point that we are not just going to push for higher salaries/wages for the lower paid Support Staff, but that we are working towards the `Pay Jolt' that Labour felt we deserved and were willing to implement it but..... we all know what happened next!
