National Executive position filled for Support Staff

Congratulations go to Vicky Signal from Rhode Street School in Hamilton for her successful election at Annual Meeting over the weekend to fill the vacant position.  Vicki has had a long history for working for SS at all levels as an active member.  She has worked on SSNCKT, the negs team and also on the tripartite working party that has recently brought us the paper, Making Resources Count to name a few.   We wish Vicki well in her role as the voice of Support Staff on our National Executive.See More

I am in now way endorsing the offer put to members, in fact i am not on the team that negotiated this offer.  As i see it the PUMs are our way of saying, NO.  I would like to think that the team have realised this is all they will get out…

Just received a flyer saying that we have settled our collective agreement. Why then are we having a meeting thought it was to vote on it. Think our leaders need to get a grip on what is put out to members. Angry of Whakatane.

I am desperate to read to full settlement agreement. While I realise that our campaign isn't all about money, 4% over more than 2 years when CPI inflation is running at 5.3% per annum, is hard to take.

Settlement Reached!

After four months of negotiations we have reached what we believe is a good settlement in the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement (SSCA) and the Kaiarahi i te Reo, Therapists', ATSSD and Special Education Assistants' Collective Agreement (KRCA). Support Staff Paid Union Meetings

Paid union meetings are scheduled for Support Staff covered by either the Support Staff in Schools or Kaiarahi i te Reo, Therapists', ATSSD and Special Education Assistants' Collective Agreements between 29 August and 16 September 2011.  Boards of Trustees have been sent a preliminary notification and a further notification.  Meeting schedules will be sent out to schools by the end of next week.  Look out for the schedules in your school!  If you don't see it soon, ring 0800 NZEI HELP for more…See More
