Kia Ora from MANGAKINO AREA SCHOOL - WE WILL REMEMBER HIM

Happy Support Staff Day to all of you out there in "education-land".

My name is Kay Russell and I am the Library Assistant at Mangakino Area School. I have been in this part time position for almost 4 years, and I enjoy it immensely.

I am also part time Office/Admin Assistant, and (so far for this term only) part time Teacher Aide (under RTLB). MMmmmm yep I seem to have my hands a wee bit full here in Mango!! But it's all good and I love the school environment and I find it ever-inspiring!!!

Today, though, our school, students and staff are mourning the loss of one our most respected senior teachers who only retired due to ill-health at the end of Term 1. Mr Graeme Wise lost his brief battle with cancer yesterday. He will be sadly missed and forever remembered. RIP Graeme (aka "Wisey").

So although it is a day we should all be celebrating the wonder of Support Staff....unfortunately it is a very sad and sombre day, here at our small school.

But I do wish all of the rest of the Support Staff in schools all over the country to have a great day!!!
