Settlement reached for Kaiarahi i te Reo, Therapists', ATSSD and Special Education Assistants Collective Agreement (KRCA)

After 13 months, a settlement has finally been reached for the Kaiarahi i te Reo, Therapists', ATSSD and Special Education Assistants' Collective Agreement.
The Terms of Settlement are as follows:

Term

The term of the collective agreement shall be from 27 January 2010 until 31 March 2011.

Remuneration

Kaiarahi i te Reo and ATSSDs

An increase in printed rates by 1.4% for Kaiarahi i te Reo and ATSSDs, effective from 27 January 2010.

Therapists

An increase in printed rates by 1.0% for Therapists and amend the Therapists’ salary scale to add a new top step (Step 13) of $72,650, effective from 27 January 2010. Therapists
on Step 12 will increment to Step 13 on their next anniversary date on or after
27 January 2010 (subject to clause 3.3.4 of the KRCA).

Special Education Assistants

From 27 January 2010, introduce a new pay scale for Special Education Assistants’ (to replace the existing scale) as follows:

Step 1: $29,120

Step 2: $30,410

All employees on the Special Education Assistants’ Pay Scale will translate to the new Step 1 from 27 January 2010. Nb. this translation will not affect their anniversary dates for
incremental progression.

A newsletter will go out to all members covered by the KRCA by the end of this week, asking them to vote on the settlement. Ballots close Friday 26th March at 12 noon.
